Vail Colorado Ski Holidays: Vail is # 1 consistently for many reasons. Its the largest ski are in North America for one, its easily accessible from Denver straight along Interstate 70 (or you can fly to the Eagle/Vail airport < 30 mins away) for two. Thirdly it has gobs of terrain for everyone from absolute beginners to expert tree and bowl skiers and riders. The base village has almost completed its Billion Dollar revival, and there are some great new lodging choices out there and retail and restaurants and, you name it! The transportation around the base area and to the outlying accommodations is second to none. The pedestrianised base village is a wonderful experience to explore. The Apres Ski is the best in the state (or states!).

So, the best skiing in the State, for a lot less than Aspen, or Beaver Creek , easier to get to, easier to get around, some of the best shopping and dining, some of the finest new lodges, some great budget minded options too, you can't go wrong. The only downside is that there is still some construction work going on in the base area (a lot less than 2007), but you may have to hike a couple more yards in your boots to get to the lift, but if you can't make that sacrifice, then you probably shouldn't be skiing!
